Proofreading, editing and rewriting

Do you have copy that was published a long while ago and could do with rewriting to make it more relevant and appealing? Perhaps you wrote the copy for your website in-house a while ago, but you need the pages edited.

Maybe you have copy that’s in draft form and still waiting to be published. For example, you could be planning an email campaign and you’ve already written a few emails as part of an email series and you want to rewrite them to make them better.

Wherever you are in that cycle, I can review your content and, where applicable, recommend areas for improvement. These could include:

  • Suggestions to change and strengthen your headlines
  • Changing the opening and leads of your copy to make it more powerful and persuasive
  • Moving content around to improve the flow and improve clarity
  • Incorporating a few additional lines of content, if needed

Here’s my two-step copywriting makeover process:

  1. Review your existing copy and discuss suggestions for improvement with you
I will read through the copy and make notes of where I feel it could be improved. For example, maybe the benefits of your product or service are not clearly expressed and could do with a fuller explanation. Or the content may be too long and rambling and needs to be shorter and more succinct. To ensure we are on the same page, I’ll discuss my recommendations with you so you have an opportunity to provide your own thoughts and feedback.
  2. Rewrite the copy
Once we’ve agreed on the changes, I’ll go ahead and rewrite the copy. Because we will have already discussed the proposed changes, there should be no surprises when I deliver the revised content.

In summary, I will review your existing copy and make assessments on:

  • Overall structure
  • Strength and effectiveness of headlines
  • Clarity and readability
